Il progetto culturale "Note dal Passato, Suoni del Futuro"

"Note dal Passato, Suoni del Futuro" It is a cultural project that puts in dialogue the great Neapolitan musical tradition of the 1700s with the creativity of today's composers. Starting from the legacy of the so-called Neapolitan School, the project invites young authors to engage with scores, styles, and performance practices of the Baroque period to generate new original works.

The path combines musicological research, artistic production, and social inclusion actions, with a strong focus on Southern Italy and the international circulation of new music. Festivals, composition competitions, training activities, and multimedia materials create a single sound narrative, accessible to diverse audiences.

Objectives:

Internationalization of selected Young Composers through distribution via AWAL on the following platforms: Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, SoundCloud, Pandora, Instagram, Boomplay, Melon, Genie, LINE MUSIC, NetEase Cloud Music, and participation in the International Festival of Neapolitan Music of the 1700s. The project is led by the Domenico Scarlatti Association, which has been committed for years to enhancing the Neapolitan musical heritage and producing new works. Through festivals, showcases, and educational projects, the Association has built a network of collaborations with musicians, researchers, training organizations, and cultural institutions.

"Notes from the Past, Sounds of the Future" is born within this network: conservatories, schools, local associations, international entities, and technical partners contribute to the artistic programming, the selection of composers, the organization of concerts, and the dissemination of multimedia materials, in a spirit of cooperation and exchange.

The project is funded by SIAE as part of the "For Those Who Create" call, dedicated to supporting youth creativity and enhancing contemporary languages. This support makes it possible to produce new works, organize festival activities, training, and inclusion, as well as create multimedia materials available for free.

The project is aimed at musicians, composers, conservatory students, and music school students, as well as teachers, researchers, cultural operators, enthusiasts, and a new audience curious to discover the Neapolitan tradition of the 1700s. Special attention is given to the youth of Southern Italy and communities less reached by cultural offerings.

The expected impact concerns several aspects: the growth of the artistic and professional skills of the participants, the increase of quality cultural offerings in the area, the creation of new national and international collaborations, and the production of lasting works and digital content. The project's website and the "Video & Podcast" section will allow following developments over time and staying updated on festivals, competitions, and training activities.
